At its center stands the world-famous Alhambra palace, a UNESCO marvel of Islamic architecture. In fact, Granada was once the last Islamic stronghold in Spain and therefore boasts a unique blend of Moorish and Christian influences. • Hotel Granada Centro ($): this is where we stayed, the hotel is basic but has comfy beds and a decent shower. No coffee machine or fridge in the room. Great location as it's walking distance from all the main attractions

• U-Sense Granada Catedral ($$): fully-equipped apartment in the heart of Granada, ideal if you want to do some cooking

• BiBo Suites Plaza Nueva ($$$): fully-equippped apartment with extra sofa bed, ideal for families

• Baraka-by-Moma: great coffee and breakfast/brunch options

• Bar Ávila Tapas: popular local tapas bar

• Bueno Bar: great sunny location for a drink and free tapa

• Café-Bar Gerardo: very local café with coffee and breakfast

• Chantarela: local tapas bar with generous portion of free tapa with drink order

• El Huerto de Juan Ranas, La Terraza: great terrace in front of San Nicolas viewpoint, drinks and food are somewhat expensive so come for the view

• EntreBrasas: grilled meat specialist restaurant

• Kasbah: cozy Arabic-style restaurant with quality food options

• La taberna chica: local bar that comes alive at night

• Luisitas Empanadas Argentinas: variety of delicious empanadas, great as a snack

• Pata Palo - Granada: local pub with good live music

• Restaurante Páprika: vegan restaurant

• Saint Germain: wine bar with lots of delicious raciónes and tapas
